Excitement is high for The Game Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the gaming world. This annual event, eagerly awaited by developers and gamers alike, honors the year’s best games and offers the first glimpses of upcoming releases. Ahead of the eagerly anticipated ceremony, the nominees for the Players’ Voice category, where the winner is determined entirely by player votes, have been officially announced.

Announced slightly later than the regular award categories, this list allows players to support their favorites on the official website. The list includes a total of 30 different games that made their mark in 2025 and previously released. Among the nominees, mega-hits like ARC Raiders, Elden Ring Nightreign, and Helldivers 2, which have reached millions of players, stand out.

The most interesting story on this year’s nominations belongs to the game Megabonk. The game’s developer had previously withdrawn its nomination for “Best New Indie Game,” stating that it wasn’t technically their first game. Praised for this honest approach, the developer has now been re-nominated in the Players’ Voice category and invited fans to vote.

Players should act quickly, as the first round of voting ends on December 2nd. Participants can vote for 10 different games in this first round. After the first round concludes, the 10 games receiving the most votes will advance to the next round, reducing the number of nominations to five. In the final round, the title with the most votes from the final five will win the grand prize.

The competition is expected to be fierce. The list includes ambitious games from major studios such as Battlefield 6, Doom: The Dark Ages, Mario Kart World, and Silent Hill. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has already made history at The Game Awards with 13 nominations across 11 different categories. This record demonstrates that the game is also a strong contender in the Players’ Voice category.

Whatever the outcome, we won’t have to wait long to find out the winners. The awards ceremony will take place on December 11th. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to watch this big night live on platforms like YouTube and X (Twitter).

The list features some strong candidates and comeback stories. So, which game do you think should take home this year’s Players’ Voice award? Don’t forget to share your favorite game and the candidate you support in the comments.
